UK Athletics has today announced updates to the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team competing at the European Athletics Championships [7-12 June] taking place in Rome, Italy.

Zharnel Hughes, Matthew Hudson-Smith, Imani-Lara Lansiquot and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake have all withdrawn from the squad for the Championships.

Amy Hunt (Marco Airale, Charnwood) will now contest the women’s 100m as well as the relay, while Aleeya Sibbons (Coral Nourrice, Newham and Essex Beagles) has joined the women’s 4x100m relay squad for the event in Rome.

In addition, Daryll Neita (Marco Airale, Cambridge Harriers) will now focus on the 200m and 4x100m relay, so has withdrawn her entry from the women’s 100m.
