UPDATES TO THE GB & NI SQUAD FOR THE EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

There have been a few updates to the Great Britain and Northern Ireland squad heading to the European Team Championships in Silesia, Poland next week [23-25 June].

Jade Ive (coach: Brian Hooper, club: Sutton & District) joins the team in the women’s pole vault after the withdrawal of Sophie Cook. It will be a first appearance in a senior GB & NI team for Ive who won the UK Athletics Indoor title earlier this year.

Among the other updates are Andrew Morgan-Harrison (Alex O’Gorman, Kingston upon Hull) and Leonie Ashmeade (Lewis Samuel, Wakefield) joining the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay teams respectively.

With the withdrawal of Imani-Lara Lansiquot in the women’s 100m, Bianca Williams (Enfield & Haringey) will now race in both the individual 100m and 200m in Poland.

The Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the 2023 European Team Championships in Silesia, Poland on the 23-25 June.
