TOWERS WINS AT BERLIN GP
World T34 800m bronze medallist Isaac Towers (coach: Pete Wyman / Jenni Banks) continued his start to the summer season with a trio of races at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Berlin.
Towers – now Loughborough-based – won the T33/34/52 100m in 17.92, taking home the grand prix gold medal. He returned in two further disciplines, for second in the 400m, clocking 61.12 while he was fifth in the 200m in 31.13, just outside his season best.
Maria Lyle (Jamie Bowie) – silver medallist at the recent Commonwealth Games – kickstarted her 2018 season to record 15.50 in the mixed 100m heat. Elsewhere, she ran her first 200m of the year, 32.05 the time.
Berlin hosts the WPA European Championships later this summer between 20-26 August.
