One Month To Go until the Müller British Athletics Championships

In exactly one month’s time the Müller British Athletics Championships will finally kick off at the Manchester Regional Arena and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting sporting events in the UK this year.

The biggest – and best – major outdoor athletics meeting of the year anywhere in the world will see over 300 athletes battle to become British champion, starting under the lights on Friday 4 September and continuing during the day on Saturday 5 September.

Befitting of the event, a whole host of Great Britain & Northern Ireland’s best athletes will be on show including Holly Bradshaw, Laviai Nielsen, Eilish McColgan, Laura Weightman, CJ Ujah, Ojie Edoburun, Imani-Lara Lansiquot, Ashleigh Nelson, Jodie Williams, Sabrina Fortune and Stef Reif to name just a few.

One of the highlights will surely be the women’s long jump on day two thanks to a truly world class field of reigning champion and British No.1 Abigail Irozuru, world silver medallist Shara Proctor and European silver medallist Jazmin Sawyers.

There are record number of para athlete entries and four standalone para events being included on a British Athletics Championships schedule for the first time with Sophie Hahn, Hannah Cockroft, Sammi Kinghorn, Maria Lyle and Thomas Young all in action.

Due to government guidelines, the Championships will be held behind closed doors but the BBC are broadcasting half an hour earlier on Friday 4 September on BBC2 from 1800-2100 and will live from 1315-1630 on BBC1 on Saturday 5 September.
