METZGER CALLED-UP TO WORLD ATHLETICS RELAYS TEAM
Kevin Metzger (coach: Stephen Ball; club: Sale Harriers Manchester) has been called up to the Great Britain and Northern Ireland 4x400m team for the World Athletics Relays this weekend, following the withdrawal of Martyn Rooney.
Metzger opened his season with a time of 46.86 in Stretford earlier this month, backing up his personal best of 46.71 from 2020. It is the 23-year-old’s first senior call-up to a British team and will join the squad heading out to Silesia, Poland later this week.
Amy Allcock has also withdrawn from the team heading to Poland.
