Marshall Milton Keynes dominate Club:Connect
Marshall Milton Keynes’ under-17 boys received a special reward for victory as eight Club:Connect 4x100m relays helped kick off the Müller Grand Prix Birmingham at the Alexander Stadium.
The Milton Keynes 4x100m quartet cruised home in 43.91 seconds, 1.59 ahead of Rugby & Northampton in second, and moments later were invited back onto the track to take part in the Queen’s Baton Relay.
The boys took over the baton for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games from Britain’s world champion 4x100m relay team of CJ Ujah, Adam Gemili, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and Danny Talbot.
Marshall Milton Keynes’ afternoon was capped by their Men’s Under-20 team who took victory in their relay to equal the most number of wins on the day of two with Coventry Godiva Harriers.
Coventry Godiva Harriers won both the Boys Under-13 and Under-15 races while there was a home winner in the Girls Under-17 race as Birchfield Harriers clocked a season’s best of 50.00 dead.
Huntingdonshire picked up the first win of the day in the Girls Under-13 event with Bedford & County taking the Under-15 victory and Notts successful in the Women Under-20 event.
