Following the confirmation of Greg Rutherford’s signing earlier today, five fellow global stars have also put pen to paper to sign for the Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow at the Emirates Arena on Sunday 25 February on a busy athletics deadline day.

Bringing further global stardust to the world’s best grand prix alongside the likes of  the already-confirmed Elaine Thompson and Dina Asher-Smith, reigning Olympic champions and world medallists Tianna Bartoletta and Katerina Stefanidi will line up in the women’s long jump and pole vault respectively.

Sure to be one of many athletes to attract a great level of home interest, reigning European Indoor hurdles champion Andrew Pozzi (coach: Benke Blomkvist, club: Stratford-upon-Avon) will aim to continue his red hot streak on the indoor circuit following ten wins from his last ten indoor races in the 60m hurdles.

Elsewhere, and seemingly going from strength to strength following a breakthrough sixth place finish at the 2016 Olympic Games, Britain’s leading race walk star Tom Bosworth (Andi Drake, Tonbridge) will hope to claim more headlines around the breaking of records when he attacks the Commonwealth record of 10:54.70 in the 3000m walk.

The final star to join the world-class field on deadline day, Daryll Neita (Jonas Dodoo, Shaftesbury Barnet) will join the hugely stacked field for the women’s 60m.

The 21-year-old Londoner played a key role in anchoring the British 4x100m teams to Olympic bronze and world silver in 2016 and 2017 respectively, with a superb start to 2018 seeing her lower her 60m personal best to 7.24.

Supported by EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate, the Müller Grand Prix Glasgow is the final of the prestigious IAAF World Indoor Tour, with wildcards for the IAAF World Indoor Championships available to athletes who have not already qualified to compete for their nation.
