DOUBLE DOUBLE EUROPEAN CHAMPION MUIR TURNS ATTENTION TO LONDON'S MÜLLER ANNIVERSARY GAMES

Fresh from a stunning retainment of her European titles over both 1500m and 3000m over the course of the weekend’s European Indoor Championships inGlasgow, six-time British record holder and multi-World and European medallist Laura Muir (coach: Andy Young, club: Dundee Hawkhill) has today confirmed that she will return to the Muller Anniversary Games once again this summer as she bids to light up the London Stadium once again.

Muir had the Emirates Arena on its feet on Friday evening as she hared away to yet another European title before successfully defending her 1500m title yesterday evening, with the historic feat of achieving a first-ever European ‘double double’ of golds in consecutive championships generating much excitement about what Muir can produce when the outdoor season kicks into gear.

Now diverting her attention to the aforementioned season, the exciting news for fans is that Muir has earmarked the Muller Anniversary Games (Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 July 2019), the event at which she first smashed the British 1500m record back in 2016, as a major meeting of her summer, with the Scot’s presence alongside the already confirmed Dina Asher-Smith serving to show that London once again continues to play host to the world’s best.

Though her event is still to be confirmed, it is thought as this early stage that she will compete over 1500m at this year’s Muller Anniversary Games, the same distance over which she broke Dame Kelly Holmes’ British record at the 2016 edition of the Muller Anniversary Games.

You can join Laura, Dina and the world’s best athletes in London this July! Tickets are available to purchase here.
