COCKROFT AND CHIASSARO AMONG THOSE COMPETING AT BRITISH WHEELCHAIR TRACK CHAMPS
The British Wheelchair Racing Association (BWRA) Track Championships takes place at Stoke Mandeville this weekend, with a high number of entrants turning out.
Ten-time world champion Hannah Cockroft (coach: Jenni Banks; club: Halifax) leads the entries as she takes on the 100m and 400m (T34) on Saturday before going over the 800m on Sunday.
Training partner and world 400m bronze medallist Richard Chiassaro (Jenni Banks; Harlow) goes over the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m (T54), as does quadruple European medallist Nathan Maguire (Ste Hoskins; Kirkby AC).
Following his maiden European medal last summer, Dillon Labrooy (Jenny Archer; Weir Archer Academy) approaches 2019 in confident mood, and begins his season over the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m (T54) during the two-day event.
2012 Paralympic champion Mickey Bushell (Rick Hoskins; Birchfield) goes over 100m and 200m (T53), while Mo Jomni (Jenny Archer; Weir Archer Academy) just goes in the shorter sprint.
Paralympic, world and European T33 100m medallist Andrew Small (Rick Hoskins, Stockport) will be in action in the 100m while T34 pair Ben Rowlings (Ian Mirfin; Coventry) and Isaac Towers (Peter Wyman; Kirkby AC) go in the 400m and 800m, while Rowlings also competes over 100m and 200m.
