BRITISH TEAM SET FOR IAU 6 HOUR GLOBAL SOLIDARITY VIRTUAL RUN
British Athletics has confirmed strong male and female teams including a number of individual and team medallists from previous championships for the IAU 6h Global Solidarity Run taking place this weekend.
The virtual event taking place 20-21 March will be well supported with British Athletics celebrating 30 years of supporting and sending ultra-marathon teams to World and European Championships and inviting all athletes who have represented GB & NI in that time from 50k up to 24hr racing.
Returning from their debuts in the last IAU Virtual 6h event in August are Sophie Mullins, Rob Payne, Jo Murphy, Jo Newens, Lynne Allen, Ollie Garrod and Dave Andrews, who are joined by trail internationals Andy Symonds, Holly Page and Kyle Greig, and road 50k, 100k and 24hr athletes Sue Harrison, Sharon Gayter, Jo Zakrzewski, Sam Amend, Grant McDonald, Rob Turner and Dan Lawson.
Athletes can tackle the challenge of running as far as possible in the small road or track loop in the six hours or take on hillier and more technically difficult routes. They will also share a part of their experience with the wider ultra-running community through content collection, reports and photography in another global showing of solidarity.
