2024 Diamond League Season Highlights

The 2024 Wanda Diamond League season was filled with record-breaking performances, thrilling races, and historic achievements. From stunning upsets to dominant victories, the series offered unforgettable moments.

May 2024 – Eugene: Josh Kerr’s Bowerman Mile Victory

In a dramatic showdown at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Josh Kerr took home a spectacular win in the Bowerman Mile. Leading with a bold push 600 metres from the finish line, Kerr fended off a strong challenge from Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen and the United States’ Yared Nuguse to win in a world-leading time of 3:45.34. In doing so, Kerr also broke Steve Cram’s British record, which had stood for nearly 39 years.

 

July 2024 – London: Hudson-Smith Shines in the 400m

Matt Hudson-Smith wowed the home crowd at London Stadium with an electrifying run in the men’s 400m. Clocking an impressive 43.74 seconds, Hudson-Smith not only smashed his personal best but also broke his own European record, which he had set just months earlier in Oslo.

Hodgkinson Gave a Preview of What Was to Come in Paris

In the women’s 800m, Keely Hodgkinson delivered another standout performance, clocking a world-leading time of 1:54.61. She led a British podium sweep, with Jemma Reekie and Georgia Bell finishing second and third respectively.

 

September 2024 – Brussels: Final Flourish at the Wanda Diamond League Finale

The 2024 Wanda Diamond League came to an exhilarating close at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme in Brussels. Over two days, all 32 champions were crowned, with some surprise winners sharing the stage with seasoned champions.

In the men’s pole vault, Mondo Duplantis clinched his fourth consecutive title, moving within three titles of Renaud Lavillenie’s record. Meanwhile, Femke Bol continued her dominance in the women’s 400m hurdles, securing her fourth straight Diamond Trophy.

 

Over Two-Thirds of All London 2025 Tickets Are Already Sold!

As the curtains fell on the 2024 season, athletes and fans alike are already looking forward to the 2025 edition.

The London Diamond League is scheduled for Saturday, 19th July, and after an incredible summer of athletics, fans have been securing their spots, with over two-thirds of all tickets already sold.
