2020 INDOOR EVENTS ON GENERAL SALE FROM MIDDAY TODAY

While world-class action continues over in Doha at the World Athletics Championships, come the conclusion of the championships all attention will turn to another monster year of athletics in 2020.

As the countdown to the 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games continues at pace, next year’s indoor season on home soil in the UK will form a key part of many athletes’ preparations for the aforementioned Games.

As was announced back in September, for 2020 both indoor meets – the Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow and SPAR British Indoor Championships – head to Glasgow’s Emirates Arena on consecutive weekends next February.

The Events: What, When and Where?

Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow

When: Saturday 15 February

Where: Emirates Arena, Glasgow

The world’s best one day indoor meeting, the Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow returns to the Emirates Arena for 2020 as Glasgow continues alternating hosting duties alongside Birmingham.

Previous editions of the Müller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow have seen electric performances from the likes of home favourites Dina Asher-Smith and Laura Muir alongside international medallists SU Bingtian, Marie-Josee Ta Lou and Markus Rehm among others.

2020 promises to be no different as the world’s best athletes once again gravitate towards Glasgow for an afternoon of world-class athletics, with top-name athletes being announced in the coming weeks and months.

SPAR British Indoor Championships

When: Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 February

Where: Emirates Arena, Glasgow

The official national indoor championships for athletes hailing from all over Great Britain & Northern Ireland, the SPAR British Indoor Championships pit the best in Britain against one another.

Held over two days, the championships see 13 different disciplines take place for both men and women, with events ranging from the 60m to the pole vault and 5000m race walks.

British titles and glory are the name of the game overall, with 78 medals are up for grabs in total and 26 British champions being crowned over the course of the two days.

Further to silverware being up for grabs, the championships also serve as the official Great Britain & Northern Ireland trials ahead of the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.
