Müller British Athletics Championships 2018

Alexander Stadium - Birmingham

Saturday 30th June - Sunday 1st July 2018

The best of Britain will descend on Birmingham on Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July, as they compete for the prestigious honour of being crowned British Champion as well as their place on the British Athletics team for the European Athletics Championships which take place in Berlin, Germany on 7 – 12 August and the Athletics World Cup on the 14th and 15th July at the London Stadium.

The Alexander Stadium has played host to some memorable British Championship moments over the years and 2017 continued the trend with two days of truly spectacular athletics action. In the men’s 200m, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake – who would go on to win gold as part of the men’s 4 x 100m relay team at the IAAF World Championships in London – smashed the 30-year-old championship record to win his first British title.

The women’s race was equally exciting as youngster Shannon Hylton ran the race of her life to deliver when it mattered most and secure an automatic place on the British team for London and there were also notable victories for Robbie Grabarz in the high jump, Lorraine Ugen in the long jump and Nick Miller in the hammer throw.

Around 700 athletes from across the country will descend on the Alexander Stadium for two days with the majority of finals being settled during a scintillating afternoon of athletics on the Sunday.
