Athlete Information European Indoor Selection Trials

Competitions Replacing the British Athletics Indoor Championships

We are pleased to be able to confirm the following details of the previously mentioned smaller COVID-19-compliant events over the 20th & 21st February for the purpose of British Athletics determining the selection of a Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the European Athletics Indoor Championship in Torun, Poland on 5th – 7th March 2021.

Important Information

Please be assured that British Athletics and the competition venues will be following all Government advice and guidelines to ensure the safety of all those involved in attending and delivering the competitions.

British Athletics are committed to delivering these events, as they are important preparation for the whole of 2021. However, please be aware that the local pandemic conditions may require changes to plans.

In light of recent updates of a new South African variant of COVID-19, we are now going to implement a testing protocol across the three venues. So please bear this in mind and allow for additional time when considering your travel and arrival to the venue to compete.

Further details about access requirements will be sent out in the week of the event. Here is a brief summary of requirements:

– COVID-19 Self-Assessment Declaration Form
– Temperature Testing
– Lateral Flow Test Onsite (or proof of a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of arriving to the event)

Failure to adhere to any of the above pre-requisites may delay your entry and/or mean access will not be granted.

Eligibility for invitations has been base on the following principles:

– Athletes that are in contention for selection for the team to compete in Torun
– Athletes who have confirmed that they are committed to the indoor season
– Only athletes with Elite status with exemption to travel and compete
