Accessibility – Alexander Stadium

Tickets

Accessible seating is available at the Alexander Stadium, including wheelchair positions and companion positions or ambulant seating with few or no steps.  These seats need to be booked in advance to ensure that your requirements can be accommodated.

Wheelchair tickets are available around the stadium in the blocks listed below and include a free companion ticket. Wheelchair tickets are a wheelchair bay position and one companion seat.

West Stand

Blocks 103 / 104 / 107 & 108 – Undercover elevated position at the back of the lower tier. Ramp access to positions behind the West Stand.

South Stand

Blocks 112 / 113 / 116 & 117 – Open Air elevated position at the back of the lower tier. Ramp access to positions in South West corner of the stadium.

East Stand

Blocks 122 / 124 & 126 – Undercover elevated position at the back of the lower tier. Ramp access via the North East corner of the stadium. This includes a long ramp that may require more time to navigate and may be more suitable for motorised wheelchairs.

North Stand

Blocks 131 / 132 / 135 & 136 – Open Air elevated position at the back of the lower tier. Ramp access via the North East corner of the stadium. This includes a long ramp that may require more time to navigate and may be more suitable for motorised wheelchairs.

Wheelchair tickets can be purchased online with a free companion ticket. They can be identified online by the International Symbol of Access and the wording ‘Wheelchair Accessible & Essential Companion’

Ambulant seating is available at the stadium in areas with limited steps and easier access. A free companion ticket can also be requested for any ambulant spectators who need assistance attending the event. They can be identified online by the International symbol of access and the wording ‘Ambulant Disabled & Essential Companion’. Please note ambulant disabled tickets are standard seats and do not include a wheelchair bay.

Please note the North & East Stand access route includes a long ramp that may require more time to navigate and may be more suitable for motorised wheelchairs. The North and South Stand are uncovered and open to the elements.

By purchasing an Ambulant or Wheelchair ticket, you confirm that you or a member of your party require Accessible tickets.

Proof of eligibility/disability must be provided before the event, you will be contacted by Ticketmaster after your order. Tickets may be cancelled if misuse is suspected/found.

Accessible Entry

Talk to a member of staff at the stadium entrance if you are unable to wait in a queue for a period of time. They will organise priority entry for you as soon as the gates open.

 

Guide and Assistance Dogs

Guide and Certified Assistance Dogs are very welcome at the stadium.

Please notify accessibility@britishathletics.org.uk at the time of booking.

Dogs must either be identifiable as a trained Guide / Assistance Dog or have the necessary training paperwork if requested.

Dogs should be kept on a lead/harness at all times.

 

Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are available at the stadium, close to the wheelchair bays. These toilets are larger than standard toilets. Some of these toilets are controlled by RADAR keys which will be given to staff but if you have your own key please make sure you bring it with you.

 

Changing Places Toilet

There is a changing places toilet facility in the West Stand lower tier towards the start line.

This facility meets the needs of people with multiple and complex disabilities who have one or more carer with, and assisting them, by providing extra features and more space.

Features include:
Height adjustable, adult sized changing bench
Ceiling hoist system to lift people between wheelchairs and the toilet/changing bench

Please note compatible slings for the ceiling hoist system are not provided. Customers are asked to bring their own.

 

Medication

Spectators are advised to bring medication in its original packaging and only enough for use during the event. All spectators are subject to bag searches and any unmarked/unpackaged medication will be confiscated.

Portable oxygen cylinders are permitted for medical use only.

There is no refrigeration on site so please make sure that you package your medication appropriately for the duration of your visit; we suggest bringing a small cool bag for any medication which needs to be kept cool.

Please be aware that pyrotechnics, strobe lighting, special effects and fireworks may be used at this event.
