Aldershot, Farnham & District Athletic Club teams in action at the European Champions Club

Aldershot, Farnham & District Athletic Club recorded a strong set of performances at the European Champion Clubs Cross Country Championships in Albufeira, Portugal, highlighted by a silver medal in the Under 20 Women’s team competition.

Racing against national champion clubs from across Europe, the AFD Under 20 Women delivered an exceptional team performance to secure second place overall, finishing level on 20 points with Turkish champions Fenerbahçe. Katie Pye led the team home in fourth place, followed by Kitty Scott in sixth, Sabrina Coppola Johansen in tenth, and Tilly Robertson in 39th.

In the Under 20 Men’s race, AFD finished fifth in a high‑quality European field. Their nomination to represent the UK followed their victory at the Under 20 ECCA Relay Championships in Mansfield. William Smith placed 15th, with Onjoro Sumba close behind in 17th, and teammates Ollie Russell and Jacob Pearce finishing 21st and 24th respectively.

The European Champion Clubs Cross Country Championships bring together leading clubs from across the continent, and these results highlight Aldershot, Farnham & District AC’s sustained strength at Under 20 level and their ability to perform on the international stage.

Also representing the UK were Central AC in the Senior Men’s race, where Jamie Crowe led the team home in ninth to secure seventh place overall, and Herne Hill Harriers in the Senior Women’s race, where Molly Smith finished eighth to help the team place fifth.
