The return of the event to Birmingham marks the start of a huge year for athletics in the West Midlands, with the region preparing to welcome the continent’s best athletes for the European Athletics Championships at the Alexander Stadium in August. Known for its brilliant fans and warm welcome, Birmingham will once again show why it’s one of the great homes of British athletics.
Cherry Alexander, UK Athletics’ Head of Major Events, said:
“The Novuna UK Athletics Indoor Championships are always a highlight of the domestic season – an opportunity for our athletes to deliver world-class performances in front of a home crowd.
“Birmingham has a proud athletics heritage, and it’s fantastic to see the Utilita Arena once again hosting this important event as athletes aim to earn their place on the Novuna GB & NI team for Torun. With the European Athletics Championships also taking place at the Alexander Stadium later in the year, 2026 is shaping up to be an amazing year for athletics fans in the region.”
With the 2026 indoor season set to ignite early excitement ahead of a packed summer of competition, fans can look forward to an unforgettable weekend of athletics under the lights in Birmingham.
