Official Funding Partner

Since 1997, UK Sport has been the principle funding partner of the UK Athletics World Class Performance Programme.

Their primary goal is to support and deliver UK success at the Olympics and Paralympics, through investing in National Governing Bodies of Sport to support athletes capable of delivering medal-winning performances.

They supplement this investment in athletes and sports by providing professional development programmes for all key support service providers: coaches, scientists and medics. They invest in cutting edge technology capable of producing fractional improvements in performance required to succeed in a world-class competition.

UK Sports’ partnership with the National Lottery has been fundamental to its achievement. As one of the 12 official National Lottery distributors, UK Sport is entrusted with allocating significant financial resources to support Olympic and Paralympic athletes, ensuring that British sport remains competitive on the world stage.
