MORTIMORE AND PRESCOD ADDED TO SQUAD

Due to a slight injury concern, Javelin thrower James Whiteaker has been replaced in British Athletics team for the European Athletics Team Championships in Lille Métropole from 23-25 June by Matti Mortimore (coach: Justin St Clair).

Whiteaker’s withdrawal is a precautionary measure to ensure his fitness to compete at the European Junior Championships in Grosseto, Italy on July 20-23.

4x100m relay squad members Imani Lansiquot (Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo), Richard Kilty (Kevin Kilty) and Adam Gemili (Rana Reider), plus Matthew Hudson-Smith (Tony Hadley) from the 4x400m, have also withdrawn as a precautionary measure. All will focus on qualifying for the World Championships at the British Team Trials (which take place the following weekend in Birmingham on 1-2 July). 21-year-old Reece Prescod (Jonas Dodoo) has been added to the men’s 4x100m squad.
