Travel Information

Frequent bus services run to the Etihad Stadium from Manchester City Centre.

The 216, 217, 230 and 231 services run to the Etihad Stadium from the north side of Piccadilly Gardens. The 216 service departs approximately every 10 -15 minutes. To plan your bus journey please click here.

Train services run into Manchester Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria Stations. Manchester Piccadilly is located closest to the arena, and you can complete your onward journey from there on foot, by Metrolink or by bus. Be sure to plan ahead and check train times on the National Rail website before you travel.

METROLINK

A fast and frequent tram service runs straight to a dedicated tram stop, Etihad Campus, which is next to the Arena. Metrolink services run between Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester every 10 minutes.

The journey from Manchester Piccadilly Station to Etihad campus takes less than 10 minutes.

A zonal fare system is in operation across the Metrolink network, with the Etihad Campus located in Zone 2. Travel from the city centre to the arena will require a zone 1 & 2 ticket.

You can travel by tram with contactless cards and devices using the smart readers on stops. The stops where you touch-in and touch-out will show the zone(s) you have travelled through. Just remember to touch-in and touch-out with the same card or device, at the start and end of each journey!

If you are travelling into the city centre by rail you can purchase a Metrolink add-on to your rail ticket allowing onward travel to the arena by tram.

The Arena is accessible from all major highways. As you reach Manchester, follow the signs for Sportcity.

Please note a partial road closure will be in place on Rowsley Street for the duration of the event.

Spectator Car Parking

Spectator car parking is available free of charge in the Blue Car Park.

The Blue Car Park can be accessed via the A6010 Alan Turing Way, M11 3DU.

Blue Badge Parking

To register for Blue Badge Parking please email accessibility@britishathletics.org.uk with the below information before 12 noon on Friday 7th July.

• Pass holders name
• Car make, model and registration
• Attach a photograph of the front & back of your Blue Badge parking pass

Please note no blue badge parking will be available on the day unless you have already registered and received a parking pass.

Residents Parking

A resident parking scheme is in place in the streets around the arena and this is strictly enforced and identified through on-street signage. Please do not park in these areas as you will be fined and your vehicle may be clamped or removed.
