INFORMATION ON TOKYO 2020 MARATHON SELECTION NOW AVAILABLE

British Athletics has today published advance information on the selection process for the marathon for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The advance information outlines the general process by which British Athletics will determine selections for the men’s and women’s marathon events for Team GB in Tokyo next year.

Selection will take place in two parts with a pre-selection scheduled for December 2019 and a final selection following next year’s London Marathon, which will act as the trial event.

Released specifically to help marathon athletes plan their races following this year’s London Marathon, which acted as the trial event for the IAAF World Championships in Doha in September and October, the information is available to view now at http://www.uka.org.uk/performance/2020-selection-policies/.
