TICKETING

How many tickets are available for the event?

The event falls just 4 days after the planned next stage (step 4) of the UK Government roadmap and with so much still unknown about this stage, we have made the decision to initially sell tickets following Step 3 guidance and social distancing measures.

Tickets will be sold following social distancing guidance as set out by the Sport Ground Safety Authority.

With one metre + social distancing measures implemented 1,300 tickets will be available for sale.

Should restrictions and social distancing guidance change more tickets may be released.

 

Who can purchase tickets to the 2021 Müller British Athletics Championships?

Tickets will be available to the family members of those athletes competing at the event and spectators who had previously purchased tickets for the 2020 Müller British Athletics Championships.

Any remaining tickets will then be released for general sale.

 

When will tickets go on sale?

The Müller British Athletics Championships will take place on Friday 25th – Sunday 27th June 2021.

Tickets will be available from 10am on Tuesday 15th June to athlete families and from 10am on Wednesday 16th June 2021 to spectators who purchased tickets for the 2020 Müller British Athletics Championships.

Tickets will be sold as best available, on a first come, first served basis. Seats will be available in singles or pairs.

Any remaining tickets will be made available for general sale at 10am on Monday 21st June.

Before purchasing tickets, you should consider the risks of attending this event based on your personal circumstances and if you feel uncomfortable, you should not attend.

 

How do I request accessible tickets?

Wheelchair positions are available around the venue and include a free companion ticket. A roof structure covers some of these positions from the elements but not all.

Ambulant disabled seating is available around the venue with step free access or a couple of steps onto the row of seats.

Accessible tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis. They will be available from 10am on Tuesday 15th June to athlete families and from 10am on Wednesday 16th June to spectators who purchased tickets for the 2020 Müller British Athletics Championships.

Why have you not chosen to release the tickets by ballot?

The timescales involved have made a ticket ballot not possible for this event. All tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.

 

Why are there no senior, student or family tickets available this year?

To make the process as simple and as efficient as possible we have had to remove the senior, student and family ticket offers for this year. We apologise if this affects you and will look to reinstate these prices next year when events are back to normal.

 

What age range is a junior ticket?

Junior tickets are available for those aged 16 years and under.

Children aged 16 years or under must be accompanied to the event by an adult. Children of all ages will require a ticket including babies in arms.

 

Can I pick where I want to sit?

Due to the timescales involved we are unable to offer direct seat selection to fans this year. When purchasing tickets, you will be able to choose the stand and block that you wish to sit in, and the ticketing system will automatically allocate you the best available seat(s) in that block.

 

Is there a hospitality package available?

Due to the timelines involved in staging this event, no hospitality packages are available.

 

Are any of the seats at the stadium undercover?

The venue has a roof structure on all stands however those sitting on the lower rows in the stands &/or depending on the wind direction may find that they are not undercover.

All spectators attending the event are advised to check the weather conditions before leaving home and dress appropriately including hats and sun cream should the sun shine!

 

Why is there a ticket limit this year?

Tickets have been limited to singles or pairs to allow for as many fans as possible to have access to tickets and to ensure any potential Government restrictions are adhered to.

 

Can I ensure my tickets will be sat with friends and family members?

We are unable to offer tickets in more than twos, therefore if you purchase more than one set of two tickets, we cannot guarantee you will be seated near each other. All single seats or sets of two are allocated with one metre + social distancing from other parties.

Once in the stadium only sit in the seat assigned to you on your ticket. Please do not move to be closer to friends or family.

 

Where is best to see what events?

One of the best things about coming to an athletics event is that you are never far away from the action, with multiple events happening at the same time and spread around the stadium there is always something to watch.

In the stadium every seat gives you an excellent view of the action.

If you love to watch the fastest athletes on the planet the best seats to choose are in the East Stand.

Want to watch the long and triple jumpers charging down the runway, then choose seats in the West Stand.

If the pole vault is more your thing, then then the South Stand is for you whilst the North Stand offers the best view of the high jump.

For the throw events the North and South Stands offer the best viewpoint.

And of course, not leaving out the endurance races where any seat in the stadium is great to cheer on the athletes as they complete laps of the track.

 

I have heard I need to sign a Code of Conduct. Where can I find this?

All spectators attending the event are asked to read and sign up to Code of Conduct to assist us in helping to protect you and your fellow spectators at the event.

When will I receive my tickets?

All tickets will be emailed to you as a PDF attachment approximately two days before the event.

You will need to print out your tickets on plain white A4 paper, ensuring each ticket is on one piece of paper and the barcode is easy to read with no smudging or bleeding. If the barcode is not clear it will stop the ticket from scanning on entry.

 

I do not have access to a printer, how do I get my ticket?

If you have a friend or relative with a printer, please ask them to print your tickets for you.

Alternatively, open the PDF containing the ticket on your phone and zoom into the barcode area. Present this zoomed in barcode to the steward with the scanner at the access gate and this should scan allowing you access to the event.

 

What happens if the event is cancelled, or the capacity is reduced?

If we have taken payment and the event is cancelled, you will be offered a full refund or exchange to the rearranged date.

If you have purchased tickets and the event capacity is reduced, you will receive a full refund.

 

If, having booked, I or my guest have symptoms of Covid-19, are household members of a person with symptoms, have been asked to isolate by NHS Test & Trace or have tested positive for Covid-19 which would result in attendance not being possible, can I get a refund?

Our refund policy covers these situations as we are committed to reducing the risk of Covid transmission. Please make sure you keep any texts from Test and Trace etc. as we may need evidence for the refund.

 

If, having booked, I or my guests decide not to attend for any reason not listed above, will I be entitled to a refund?

If the event goes ahead with a crowd but you are unable to attend for any reason, including due to other concerns relating to Covid-19, then our usual terms and conditions will apply, and a refund will not be possible.

Can I resell tickets if I can no longer attend the event?

Current UK Government guidelines require us to know the contact details of the lead ticket booker for Test & Trace purposes. If you can no longer attend the event, please only pass your tickets on to friends and family who can be contacted should the need arise.

 

PRE-EVENT

What do I need to do before event day?

Before event day please make sure that you have:

  • Made appropriate travel plans.
  • You are strongly encouraged to carry out lateral flow testing twice a week, before and after the event. You can collect free testing kits from local pharmacies and community sites, or order online or by phone for home delivery http://www.nhs.uk/gettested
  • Contact us if you are exempt from wearing a face covering.
  • Read the spectator code of conduct.
  • Pack your tickets, masks, hand sanitiser and appropriate clothing for all weathers!

 

Covid 19 testing for people without symptoms

We would encourage all spectators (12 years and over) to access Lateral Flow testing twice weekly before and after the event. By doing so, you will have additional assurance that you are helping to keep Covid-19 rates at a low level.  However, if you have symptoms, you should not come to the event, even if you test negative on an LFT test.

If you have symptoms, you should book a PCR test via 119 or online at Get a free PCR test to check if you have coronavirus (COVID-19) – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We would encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as they are offered the opportunity.

 

What time will the event take place?

The event is expected to run between approximately 14:30 – 21:00 on Friday, 10:00 – 18:45 on Saturday and 10:30 – 16:50 on Sunday.

 

How should I travel to the Stadium?

We advise that you plan your journey to and from the stadium in advance and always follow social distancing measures.

If travelling by public transport, follow the UK Government guidance. The government’s COVID-19 safer travel guidance is a good source of information.

 

Is parking available at the Stadium?

Free Parking is available at the stadium with the car park accessible from Sportscity way, Manchester, M11 3DU

Should I bring my own face covering and hand sanitiser?

Please ensure that you bring your own face covering and whilst hand sanitiser is provided around the venue, we would also recommend bringing your own.

 

What do I do if any of my party are exempt from wearing a face covering?

If you are medically exempt from wearing a face covering under Government guidelines, you do not have to wear one, but you may wish to use one of the Government resources to demonstrate this, including the use of a GP letter and/or hidden disabilities card and lanyard. Any exemptions must be made known to British Athletics in advance of attending the event by email to: accessibility@britishathletics.org.uk

 

My plans have been impacted by COVID-19, what do I need to do?

If you feel ill on the day of the event, please do not travel. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are a household member of a person with symptoms you must not attend. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has COVID-19 in the 10 days before the event you should be self-isolating and must not attend.

Please comply with all relevant guidance and rules relating to COVID-19 and social distancing, including those of the government and public health authorities.

 

EVENT DAY

What do I need to do on event day?

  • Arrive in good time to go through all the necessary entry procedures and security checks. You are advised to arrive at least 45 minutes before the start of the event. Gates will open at 13:00 on Friday, 09:30 on Saturday and 09:00 on Sunday.
  • Limit the amount of personal belonging you bring with you. Small bags that can fit under your chair are permitted. Bag checks will be in operation so please be aware that you may be required to empty your bag on arrival. Avoid bringing bags were possible to reduce queuing time and help us maintain social distancing. Body scanning wands will also be in use.
  • Bring a face covering to wear, or if you are exempt, please use one of the Government resources to demonstrate this.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided, however please feel free to bring a personal supply of hand sanitiser (in a plastic bottle no larger than 50mls) if this is preferred.

 

Will food and drink facilities be available inside the stadium?

Food and drink kiosks will be available at the event. All payments will be contact free and cashless.

A small amount of cold food for personal consumption can be brought into the venue. Sealed plastic bottles of water or juice under 500ml are permitted but no glass bottles, cans, flasks or picnic hampers are allowed.

Strictly no alcohol is permitted to be brought into the stadium.

 

What procedures have been put in place to make the stadium a safe venue?

We are working with the Manchester Regional Arena to ensure that we follow all UK Government and local guidance.

We know that things can change, and we have made our approach flexible so that we can react to any changes to the guidelines when necessary.

Guidance will be based on the UK Government recommendations at the time of the event however some measures to be expected are:

Social Distancing – social distancing measures will be in place with clear guidance around the venue. Seats will be separated between groups to ensure social distancing.

Hygiene and cleanliness – A deep cleaning routine has been employed across the stadium and will be undertaken before and after the event. You will also see hand sanitiser stations placed in regular intervals around the venue, and cleaning teams will be more regularly cleaning facilities throughout the event.

Contact free – Mobile ticketing will be in operation with all tickets sent to spectators digitally to limit contact.

All food and drink concessions will be cashless.

Managed exit – To assist with social distancing, a managed exit approach may be implemented to ensure areas do not become overcrowded. You may be asked to remain in your seat for a short period of time at the end of the event to assist with this.

 

Do I need to wear a mask or face covering in the stadium?

Any supporter over the age of 11 must wear a face covering at all times in the following areas:

  • External areas
  • Entry points
  • Internal walkways
  • Toilets
  • Staircases / landings

The only times when you do not need to wear a mask is when you are sitting in your allocated seat in the stadium and eating or drinking.
