UKA today confirmed that Rachel Wallader has been provisionally suspended from all competitions following an adverse analytical finding that constitutes an anti-doping rule violation under IAAF Rule 32.2 (a).

Wallader has been provisionally suspended under IAAF rules following the results of the A sample analysis that indicated the presence of methylhexaneamine and has been charged by UK Anti-Doping with having committed an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete has waived her right to the analysis of the B sample.

The athlete now has the opportunity to respond to the charge against her, including the right to a full hearing of the case. UK Anti-Doping is tasked with overseeing the UK anti-doping programme and has authority for results management in the UK, fully supported by the rules of the IAAF and UKA.

The provisional suspension follows an in-competition test at the BUCS Championships at Bedford on 1st May 2010.

If found guilty the athlete would face a sanction of up to 2-years ineligibility.
