James Dasaolu

18 February 2014

British Athletics can confirm that James Dasaolu (Steve Fudge) will not compete at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland following the injury sustained in Saturday’s Sainsbury’s Indoor Grand Prix

Dasaolu ran a PB in the semi final of the men’s 60m with a World leading time of 6.47. He went on to win the final in 6.50 seconds but felt a twinge to his hamstring in the final phases.

The sprinter had a scan which showed a minor tear to his hamstring but will resume training shortly in preparation for the outdoor season.

“Unfortunately it will keep me out of competing at the World Indoors,” said James who won a silver at the European Indoors last year.

“I am disappointed but this is going to be a big year and I don’t want to take any risk at all. I will now concentrate on being 100% fit for the outdoor competitions.”
