Tributes have been made by the sport of athletics following the passing of Trevor Marsay. The Birchfield Harriers coach had been fighting cancer during recent years and earlier this month was admitted to hospital where he lost his battle with illness last weekend.
Trevor will be sadly missed by all that knew him at Birchfield Harriers and British Athletics.
Andy Paul, Birchfield Harriers Club Chairman, added:
“The club has lost an immense presence, a man whose impact has been felt up and down the country by those who met, were coached by him or supported by his knowledge, humour and passion for our sport. Birchfield Harriers will be a quieter place without him but I hope that we can remember him for the love of sport and what it can do for young people - this is what drove him.”
