Sainsbury's Indoor British Championships | English Institute of Sport (EIS) | Sheffield | 14- 15 Feb 2015
The English Institute of Sport in Sheffield once again hosted a fantastic weekend of athletics, which saw 26 athletes crowned Sainsbury's Indoor British Champions in their respective events.
The event of the day saw Katarina Johnson-Thompson repeat her 2014 feat, winning the women's high jump and breaking the British record with a 1.97m clearance. Silver medallist Morgan Lake also excelled, setting a new British indoor junior record with a 1.94m jump.
On the track, youngsters Dina Asher-Smith & Chijindu Ujah showed their more senior counterparts a fresh pair of heels, streaking away to their respective 60m titles. There was also something for the local crowd to celebrate as Luke Cutts and Adam Hague went 1-2 in the men's pole vault.
In the endurance events Jenny Meadows won her seventh British Indoor 800m title, whilst Laura Muir and Emelia Gorecka took victory in the 1500m and 3000m.
Many of the weekend's winners have now secured their places on the GB & NI team for the European Indoor Championships in Prague, Czech Republic, on 6-9 March. But for those who haven't, they'll be aiming for qualifying standards at the Sainsbury's Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham on 21 February.
