Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix | Emirates Arena - Glasgow | 20 February 2016
The first major athletics event of an action packed 2016 season will be the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday 20 February.
The event will take place at the Emirates Arena for the first time after a number of years in Birmingham, which will now share the event with Glasgow in alternating years in the build up to the 2018 World Indoor Championships in the West Midlands.
Widely regarded as the world’s best indoor grand prix athletics meeting, the 2015 edition saw Great Britain’s Olympic hero Mo Farah set a new indoor 2 mile record and heptathlon superstar Katarina Johnson-Thompson break the British indoor long jump record.
A cast of world class international stars can be expected to compete in the Scottish city, with 2015 winners also including Olympic long jump champion Greg Rutherford, former world 100m champion Kim Collins and world 100m silver medallist Murielle Ahoure.
Glasgow has a rich athletics heritage having held the indoor international match for over 25 years, hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has bid to be the host city of the 2019 European Indoor Championships.
Tickets will be on public sale from Thursday 10 September 2015.
