British Athletics Grand Prix | National Indoor Arena | Birmingham | Saturday 16th Feb 2013
The British Athletics Grand Prix returns to the NIA in Birmingham on Saturday 16 February for what is widely regarded as the world’s best indoor athletics event.
Newly-crowned Olympic gold medallists Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah, as well as Olympic bronze medallist Robbie Grabarz, were in fine form at the NIA last year. Grabarz leapt to a convincing victory in the high jump with 2.32m, while Farah smashed the British and European indoor two mile records with a time of 8:08.07. Ennis saw off competition from world silver medallist Danielle Carruthers to win the 60m hurdles.
Birmingham’s passionate and knowledgeable athletics crowd help make this event one of the stellar sporting fixtures each year and after the success of the London Olympic Games, more fireworks are expected at the NIA in what will be Britain’s last major indoor meet in 2013.
